Project presented by Elevages Sans Frontières
Training and Help finding jobs
However, the lack of organization and technical support of these groupings make vulnerable activities already largely submitted to the climatic hazards. Elevages sans frontières, present in the zone since 2008, proposes since 2015 a support for these 21 groupings (300 women) thanks to a system of microcredit allowing the women to possess animals and to be formed to various techniques of sustainable breeding and market gardening.
The granting of a property right to the feminine groupings is a key result of the project guaranteeing to the women the access to the productive resources. The capacity building of the feminine groupings via the creation of the Federation of the groupings, called “Jokkéré Endam” and piloted by the women, allowed to intensify the already perceptible collective dynamics in this zone and to assure the legitimacy of the women in the activity of breeding. An extension of the project is in progress to answer a demand of professionalization of the women by strengthening their technical and economic skills in the breeding sector.
