Project presented by Rejoué

Project implemented in France :
Promoting the professional integration of women distant from employment through training in toy reuse activities

Since 2012, the integration project Rejoué has been supporting individuals who are far removed from the job market—primarily women—by offering them professional development pathways in the collection, refurbishment, and resale of second-hand toys.

With the establishment of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme for toys in 2022, which promotes reuse and recycling, Rejoué aims to expand its toy refurbishment activities as a means of facilitating access to jobs traditionally dominated by men. The initiative seeks to strengthen women’s skills in logistics, encourage the use of digital tools, and—above all—support their self-empowerment and help build self-confidence.

The action plan includes a gradual upskilling process for participants, notably through job rotation across different roles. On-the-job training follows the “learning by doing” approach, combining hands-on practice with reflective sessions, helping participants identify and value the skills they develop throughout the program.

Additionally, personalized support is provided, including career discovery workshops, thematic sessions (such as art therapy, self-esteem, women’s health), internships, digital training, and one-on-one guidance. These activities are designed to help each woman shape a professional project that aligns with her personal goals and aspirations.

Use of the award:
The prize will help strengthen support for women’s professional integration and allow Rejoué to share its methodologies with other organizations in the Rejouons Solidaire network.
