Project presented by Geres
In Morocco, cooking with gas or wood is widespread, placing significant pressure on natural resources and exposing the population—particularly women—to health and safety risks. Many women, often untrained and working in the informal sector, produce and sell bread in precarious conditions.
To address these challenges, Geres has initiated the development of high energy performance (HEP) stoves and supports women in becoming distributors and ambassadors of this new cooking solution, while also creating a quality label.
Use of the award:
The project is built around two main objectives: promoting green female entrepreneurship through training, tailored support, and the creation of a network of ambassadors; and facilitating women’s access to FaranEco stoves by establishing partnerships with microcredit institutions and conducting awareness-raising campaigns. These initiatives aim to improve women's working conditions, reduce pressure on forests, and limit greenhouse gas emissions.
